WHY WHOLE GRAINS?


 

For many of us, life without bread, cookies, cakes, donuts, muffins, and rolls-would be incomplete. However, it is good news that we can actually be healthy by eating our favorite foods!. Our products are made with freshly milled flour from local organic  Pennsylvania soft and hard red wheat grains.

 

 

WHY DO WE MILL OUR OWN FLOUR?

Freshly milled flour is superior to store bought flour because nothing has been removed. When you buy bread in the grocery store, it’s made from flour that's been treated and has been sitting around. It’s been chemically processed and has no nutrients left. Within twenty-four hours of grinding or cracking wheat, forty percent of the nutrients have oxidized, its inner elements are exposed to oxygen, which destroys the vitamins and oils in just a short period of time.


 

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS ?

All grains come in their own divinely designed preservation packaging, the bran. The bran, however, is more than just fancy packaging. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins. Further, it is a great source of valuable fiber, which acts like a sponge, absorbing and removing toxins from the body as it "scrubs" the digestive tract. The grains contain fiber, magnesium, riboflavin, thiamine, niacin, iron, and zinc, vitamins B1, B2, B3, E, phosphorus, and polyunsaturated fatty acids. 

Regular intake of fresh, whole grains eliminates the need for dietary fiber supplements and probably for other things.
